Donate to the Raleigh Fire Museum via United Way Combined Campaign

September 21, 2013

Your fire museum has been busy as the days are growing longer and the seasons are changing. During the second Saturday of September, we co-hosted a “Day with the Raleigh Fire Department” at the training center. Over sixty people attended, and many toured the fire museum. We’ve also been promoting the museum around town with new glossy “rack cards” you may have seen.

We’ve recently installed signage, both on Wilmington Street and at the training center, to help raise awareness of the museum. We also recently completed a project to donate copies of the centennial history book to local and national libraries. You can read about our history at both the National Fire Academy library and the Library of Congress!

But for these and future projects, we need resources. And we need to raise money. If your employer is participating in a United Way Combined Campaign this fall, and if the donation form contains a write-in option, consider a donation to the Raleigh Fire Museum.

Simply complete the following information in the Write-In Agencies section of the your form:

Raleigh Fire Museum
P.O. Box 31084
Raleigh, NC, 27622

Here's how the information appears when added to a sample form:

Other Ways to Donate

There are other ways to donate to the Raleigh Fire Museum. You can purchase an annual membership, which cost $24 per year (or $18 per year for retired members). They can be purchased online at http://www.raleighfiremuseum.org/. You can also make a one-time online donation at the same web site.

Other Ways to Help

The Raleigh Fire Museum both welcomes and encourages your participation. We have opportunities ranging from assisting with monthly museum openings, to promotional and fundraising, to artifact and inventory management, and to strategic planning. If you’re interested in history, we’re interested in hearing from you!
