Announcing a new fundraiser and exciting new project. The Raleigh Fire Museum is raising money to create a Raleigh Fire Department funeral caisson. We are converting one of the city’s first Pierce pumpers, a 1989 Pierce Arrow that was donated to the museum in 2017.
The project is being led by retired Captain Tim Duke and retired Master Mechanic Travis Menges. They are donating labor and some materials, but monies will be needed for other costs. A goal of $10,000 has been established. The completed truck will be available for funerals of Raleigh Fire Departments members, both active and retired.
